Welcome to the web page of the Cherokee Indian Hospital Foundation.
The Cherokee Indian Hospital Foundation was created to help fulfill the needs of Cherokee Indian people by raising and providing funds to meet “unmet needs” of the Cherokee Indian Hospital in Cherokee North Carolina. As funding by the Indian Health Service has decreased, the EBCI Tribe has taken over funding for the hospital and vastly
expanded service. Still, there are shortfalls that must be met, and the the Cherokee Indian Hospital Foundation meets them. We have assisted with the purchase of everything from furniture and toys to a new CAT Scan machine. The foundation is a source of grants to hospital department for an assortment of worthy projects like community outreach, diabetes awareness and smoking cessation.
The Cherokee Indian Hospital Foundation works very closely with the Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority, the governing body of the hospital. The foundation raises funds with numerous fundraising activities of which the annual Gala is the largest.
